Yesterday we set up shop at the Askennonia Health Fair. It's a great venue to access all kinds of services for seniors, so if you or a loved one may be looking for a helping hand in the future, be sure to watch for the annual event each October. We had a fantastic time, met a lot of very interesting people, and sold a whack of books. Many were purchased as gifts - it's never too early to start Christmas shopping!
Pat added an interactive feature to our presentation this year by conducting a ten minute writing exercise for interested attendees. I sat in with five participants, and their efforts left both Pat and I convinced that there is a lot of unexplored talent out there, not to mention fantastic stories to be told. The prompt was "I remember...", with a building that stands out in memory as topic. All the writers reached far back in time, sharing wonderful and interesting glimpses of the places and times they still love. We encourage all of you to pass your stories on to your younger family members and friends, either in writing or verbally. They are truly treasures that should be preserved.
Next up is our meeting on the 30th, followed by a workshop with Brian Henry. Happy scribbling!
